You probably noticed that we have a saltwater pool. We get lots of questions about the benefits of a saltwater pool and why we choose to have one.
To answer the most commonly asked questions, saltwater pools are safe to swim in. Through a process called electrolysis, dissolved salt is used to produce hypochlorous acid and sodium hypochlorite. These two commonly used pool sanitizing agents keep our pools passing weekly inspections.
The water in our pools is also nowhere near as salty as the ocean. Though it may taste salty to you, it’s only about 1/10 the salinity of seawater.
Chlorine is associated with a harsh smell and fumes and causes eye and skin irritations. All of these negative associations are diminished with a saltwater pool. Our water is softer on your skin, hair, and eyes, making your experience more enjoyable overall.
